Plasma Clean worked with Waterfield Odam & Associates and Southern Heating to provide an odour control solution for the exclusive 5 star South Lodge Hotel in West Sussex. A UV odour control system was originally considered, but extensive research proved that a Plasma Clean Xtract 4200 system would be the most effective and affordable solution.The Hotel was undergoing a major refurbishment, and the award winning Camellia restaurant was central to the project. The position of the kitchen meant that the canopy exhaust was only 10 metres from one of the luxury guest rooms, so odour control was a key element in the system design.The Plasma Clean Xtract is an ozone injection system, which means it does not add to the system back pressure, therefore eliminating the need for additional air handling capacity, resulting in an immediate 10% capital saving even before the system was installed. In addition, further savings on equipment costs and ongoing maintenance made this a winning solution over a UV-approach.Located in the hotel plant room, the Xtract 4200 injects ozone directly into the kitchen canopies, maximising the dwell time for the ozone to take effect.The low power system means that running costs are low and the long term maintenance costs are up to 80% lower than UV systems“The decision to install a Plasma Clean Xtract system to combat kitchen odours at the South Lodge Hotel was an easy one for us to make. The original plan was to install a UV odour control system, which aside from significant installation costs came with a high price tag. We heard about the Plasma Clean Xtract System and it ticked all the boxes; effective long term odour control, low cost, simple to install, and the running and maintenance costs are minimal. Kitchen odours were a major concern when the South Lodge refurbishment was taking place, but the Plasma Clean Xtract has eliminated any of our worries.
